Within a few days Jesús Navarro will no longer be the Mayor of Calasparra. He has announced his resignation, effective within a few days, to concentrate on his role in the regional assembly.
He currently holds the post of Secretary General of Municipal Policy at the regional General Assembly.
In his resignation speech he says: “I believe I have a contribution to make and I am going to dedicate myself to carry on working for the people at a regional level.”
Surrounded by his colleagues at the local authority he explained that this was a considered decision taken with the satisfaction that he had lived the best years of his life at the front of the Town Hall over the past 15 years.
The Mayor said he was satisfied that he had contributed to the transformation and growth of the town and indicated that his period as Mayor of Calasparra had been the greatest satisfaction of his life and the greatest honour. He had words of thanks for all his political colleagues who had accompanied him over the past one and half decades.
