Wailing sirens are not an everyday occurrence in Calasparra and on early Saturday evening they signalled a forest fire near the Puerta Cave.
A helicoperr Kamov and fire brigades from Calasparra, Cehegin and Caravaca were called to the scene at about 6pm on Saturday evening after receiving a call on the emergency number 112.
The fire started in canes and bushes in the Barranco del Moro, next to the Reylo factory, in the Sierra del Puerto.
Thanks to the rapid response of the emergency services it was put out before reaching nearby woodland.
