The most outragious, the most inventive, the most original fancy dress will win cash prizes in this year´s Carnival Fancy Dress Competition in Calasparra.
Large groups and small groups (of one to three)must sign on in the Plaza de la Corredera between 10.30pm and midnight and then pass through four official check points to enter the competititon.
Cash prizes for large groups are 125€ anda trophy for first place; 100€ and a trophy for second; and 75€ and a trophy for third. Small groups first prize is 75€ and a trophy.
The prize giving will be in the recreation area at the Recinta Ferial ( las Eras) at 1am and all members must be present in order to gain the prize.
This is traditionally a night of total madness in Calasoparra when literally anything goes. Even if you don´t take part in the competition, if you can stay awake, there are wonders to behold!!
