The coverted prize of “Belenista of the Year” was presented to a young man with a short history of designing and building model nativities.
The Mayor of Calasparra, Jesus Navarro, made the presentation to Antonio Martínez at the official prize givng for the XVII Nativity and Crypt Model Competition sponsored by the Sanctuary Foundation.
The jury underlined the originality of this year´s entries and encouraged more people to take part next year.
Other prizes were first place to Dolores Garcia Navbarro for her Nativity of Los Marines; second to Anna, Marina and Estela for their Family Crypt, and third to Isabel Moya Fernandez for her Nativity.
In the Crypt section third place went to Gines Gomariz Sanchez; second to the Pedreras Primary School,; with the Esperanza Primary School taking first prize.
