Two prizes for architecture in Calasparra as the new housing complex on the Plaza de la Constitución and the landscaping of public space round the castle are recognised for their merit.
These regional prizes for architecture are awarded by the regional Department of Public Works and Terrorities.
The complex of 16 houses, the regeneration around the Plaza de la Constitucíón and the restoration of the house of famous local architect, Emilio Pérez Piñero, by architects Arturo Moreno Fernándezand José Manuel Artés Carril, was valued by the jury “for regenerating the city and public spaces.”
The quality of the work and its value for the public was cited as the grounds for the prize awarded to architects, Pedro A. Díaz Guirado and Ángel Allepuz Pedreño, for the landscaping around the castle and the chapel of San José.
