The Cenajo Hotel may be reopened as a hotel, nature study centre and multi-adventure centre if four Murcian businessmen win the contract through the current tendering process by the Segura Water Board.
The result of the process should be known in a few days.
Amongst the proposals for the hotel is a nature study centre and activities in keeping with the natural environment such as mountain biking, fishing, paintball and canoeing.
If the consortium is successful in the bidding process the four businessmen will form a cooperative to run the complex. The hotel and the cabins will be reopened with cheaper prices than previously offered and such services as the spa, swimming pool, conference rooms etc will be maintained.
The offer includes strong support for the environment with a “sustainability school” which would offer course in ecological agriculture and biomass studies.
