After weeks of denials the Finance and Public Adminstrations Minister, Cristóbal Montoro, has confirmed that the Ministers Council will confirm increased taxes on tobacco and alcohol today.
The rise in taxes is attributed to “products with negative effects on consumers.”
Also under review are the tax contributions of big business with a view to harmonizing them with those paid by smaller businesses.
Also announced was support for businesses and public administrations to promote electronic invoicing and the creation of an independent tax authority.
