The concessionary society at Corvera has announced that new administrative agreements, including the closure of San Javier and the transfer of staff, are blocking the opening of Murcia´s new airport.
In a letter sent to the Minister of Public Works on May 10 the concessionary society contradicts the regional government´s version of events which claims all the permissions are in place.
The major obstacle to the opening of Corvera airport, according to the letter, is the lack of a protocol by AENA to close San Javier and transfer the staff the new airport.
However, the letter also claims that the airport also requires certification concerning the environmental impact of the installations, lacks staff training and services and businesses at the airport are still under negotiation.
