Probably the most significant event during a web dedicated to women, held to mark International Women´s Day, was the inauguration of a square in the old town dedicated to grandmothers.
Numerous women and above all grandmothers came to see the Mayor of Calasparra officially name the square “La Plaza de las Abuelas.”
Also during the week 150 women from Archena, twinned with Calasparra, representing various associations came to visit the town.
Events also included a special art exhibition by the women of Calasparra, a film and several homages to women.
