NEXOnr was created to serve as a link between the incoming, mainly UK community and the host Calasparrian community by providing news and information that aids integration. This continues to be our aim.
The new Nexonr webpage will facilitate full integration into local clubs and organizations, sports facilities, professional or recreational courses, cultural events, concerts, processions and fiestas by ensuring our readers have full advance information and we would like to enlist your help.
The charming story of the animal blessing at the picturesque Argos reservoir on this webpage was the result of a tip-off from a reader. This is just one example of the reader participation that makes your NEXOnr possible. Although we keep our ears to the ground and have a wealth of local contacts built up over the years we have been publishing NEXO we still miss things!
We are also looking for regular columnists to write on specialist subjects such as gardening in Spain, or preserving olives etc. Anyone interested in contributing can send sample articles to NEXOnr. We are unable to offer financial remuneration but may be able to offer some advertising benefit if appropriate.
Until we establish forums on the webpage we will continue to feature our regular Readers Letters Page to which you are invited to contribute. Often a Reader’s Letter will lead to an article or provide that essential piece of information that completes a long standing puzzle. They are the lifeblood of a newspaper and we will be delighted to hear from you.
However, due to legal considerations letters containing strong views will be published at the discretion of the Editor. Criticisms of individuals or groups of individuals will not be published nor will criticisms of Spanish speaking administrations or organizations that, lacking English language skills, do not understand or have the right of reply, unless the information is of important general interest. Letters should be of general interest or of personal experiences relevant to our readers.
