PRISON FOR CALASPARRIAN WHO POISONED FOXES

A Calasparrian who set poisoned bait to kill fauna on private hunting land has been jailed for a year.
Condemning the man, the judge, at the Provincial Audience, declared that he had been in charge of the private land during 2005 and knew there were wild animals, such as foxes and wild dogs, which could prejudice hunting.
In order to rid himself of the wild predators such as foxes and the wild dogs which could represent a danger to the hunters themselves he firstly tried shooting them and when this failed he set poison on the land.
The crime was reported by a neighbour after his two dogs died of poisoning.
