ORANGE WEATHER WARNING FOR TORRENTIAL RAIN AND STORMS

Not a drop of rain fell in Calasparra yesterday despite the dire warnings of the Met Office, AEMET, underlining how incredibly difficult it is to predict the weather in our part of the region.
AEMET have issued an Orange Weather Warning for the North West region of Murcia, that includes Calasparra, for today, Friday October 2 and warn of unstable weather over the whole weekend.
The weather warning runs from 2pm to midnight and predicts 42 litres of rainfall per square metre per hour.
AEMET recommends the usual precautions.
Editors Note
Following the «dana» in Valencia AEMET tends to err on the side of caution with a «better safe than sorry» policy. However, anyone who has lived in Calasparra for a few years knows how quickly the weather can change and just how serious a storm can be. Moreover October in our region is generally the «rainy season». Take care out there!!
