Spain is currently in a state of National Emergency as forest fires rage uncontrolled in Avila, Leon and Castilla de Mancha and Castillon in the region of Valencia.
As a National Emergency has been declared extraordinary measures to prevent further forest fires have been introduced on a national scale (as previously published in Nexonr) and now the Regional Government of Murcia has introduced similar measures on a regional scale.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – Extraordinary Measures introduced in Calasparra
As we face an extremely high risk of forest fires the Regional Government has restricted the use of machinery; prohibited certain work in forest areas; limited the transit of vehicles on forest tracks; and banned fire and fireworks in certain affected areas.
In Calasparra access to the following areas have been closed:
• RN Cañaverosa.
• Las Juntas – Santuario Virgen de la Esperanza (where the two rivers meet on the higher Sanctuary road)
• Acceso ECO 05.
Calasparra Town Hall has called for the maximum colaboration of all residents and visitors. The prevention of forest fires is fundamental and is the responsibility of everyone. Prevention is fundamental in order to protect our natural surroundigns.
