The Caverina was full to bursting to cheer GH Seguridad Ciudad de Calasparra FC through a heart stopping game as the locals bombarded the opposing goal but were unable to hit the target until the 32nd minute, David Gonzalez scoring the goal.
Six minutes later their rivals scored and that was the end of the story in a breath taking semi final, with plenty of stoppage time for injuries during the game, but no more goals.
The result means the local team must win next week when they play the second leg of the semi away to CD Agar in order to qualify for the final and a chance of promotion.
Before the game an emotional minute’s silence fwas called for the recently deceased, Juan Montiel, 59 years, ex player for the local Club, and President and Captain of the Veterans over many years.
