As part of the traditional visit to Calasparra every May by the statue of Our Lady of Hope from the Sanctuary there are ceremonies, masses and processions in various areas of the town: this weekend San Pedro was the first.
The residents prepared an altar, the Folklore Association Rondalla of Caladparra provided the music and the town’s children danced.The procession was accompanied by the musical group, Los Pijoteros, and the bells rang out from the Clock Tower in Calle Mayor.
The Mayoress of Calasparra, Teresa Garcia; Juana Dolores García, President of the Sanctuary Foundation; Juan Merino, President of the Superior Council of the religious brotherhoods (confradias); Juan Antonio García, President of the Patron Saints San Abdon and San Senen Brotherhood; Toñi Moya del Amor, Justice of the Peace; representatives of the religious brotherhoods; councillors from Calasparra Town Hall; and numerous residents of Calasparra accompanied the procession.
