TOWN HALL CONFIRMS COMMITMENT AGAINST DV

Calasparra Town Hall has renewed its commitment to eliminate all forms of violence against women dedicating  a day of events to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, November 25.
The day begun with the video from the Ministry of Equality, «Searching for Treasure» a piece of theatre that is central to the Ministryś campaign, on this occasion, vicarious violence was the theme.
Vicarious violence (when chilren are killed as a form of punishment against another, in this case a partner/wife/mother) has cost the lives of 38 minors in Spain since 2013; of 27 minors killed at the same time as their mothers; or women who were minors killed by their partners.
The aim of the Ministryś campaign is to raise awareness of vicarious violence as an extreme form of domestic violence and mobilize its preventention, early detection and social rejection of the agressors.
A manifesto was read against domestic violence, approved by the Federation of Municipal areas in the Murcia region, and Miguel Ángel Martínez, Chief of the Local Police shared the important keys in the prevention of domestic violence.
The facade of the local Town Hall was iluminated to reflect its rejection of all forms of violence against women.
