Local Police officers, responding to a resident’s report, surprised a robber inside a property in Calasparra and detained him as he attempted to escape.
On Saturday night Local Police received a report of torch lights inside a property in a hamlet of Calasparra.
Officers immediately drove to the scene leaving their vehicle a distance from the property in order to avoid alerting the suspect. By approaching the property on foot they were able to surprise the robber who immediatley tried to escape by the rear of the property across countryside.

The officers gave chase and were able to detain the suspect and recuperate various industrial tools, presumably stolen by the robber.
The investigation remains open as the person detained is considered a possible suspect in other robberies commited recently in the area.
The suspect has appeared before magistrates.
