This weekend Calasparra lived the traditional «encierro por vereda» with bulls from Moratalla, oxen and a grand contingent of shepherds on horseback.
They left the Pozuelo area at 8.30am and rode along footpaths to reach the Sierra of San Miguel.
Accompanied by numerous hriders the animals arrived at the Municipal Plaza de Toros at around 11am following a tranquil ride without incident.
Small crowds of residents lined the route to welcome back the «Vereda» after a two year break.
