NEW POTABLE WATER SYSTEM GUARANTEES SUPPLY

Calasparra now has a renewed potable water system that increases and guarantees the supply of potable water to the municipal area.
The project to improve the 17 kilometre branch, which supplies Calasparra, has developed over two and a half years and was  divided into three phases at a cost of 4.5 million euros. The new installations include the construction of a circular water deposit and a new plant with a capacity of 3,000 cubic metres plus the installation of 11 new supply channels.
The celebration of the completion of the project today in the Casa de la Cultura was attended by Mariola Guevara, Government Delegate,  Juan Cascales, President of the Canales del Taibilla Water Board and the Mayoress of Calasparra,  Teresa García.
This third and final phase consisted of renewing the supply channel to Valentin through a new channel of
5,285 metros with tubes of 150 millimetres in diameter that connects the Calasparra channel to the new deposit in Valentin thus permitting the direct supply from the deposit with a new channel of higher capacity and security, eliminating the intermediate channels and providing a more stable flow and more dependable supply.
