The Municipal Auditorium was full last night for the launch of the first book by local author Agustín Robles entitled “Between Two Dictatorships: Republican Calasparra”.
The author described his book as “a book to know and look up events in Calasparra which have been passed on by word of mouth but now have a documental basis.”
The book is divided into three parts representing three different eras: before the Second Republic; during the Second Republic; and closes with tales from the prisoners loyal to the Republic.
Agustín Robles began his investigations in the Municipal Archive and continued his research in other archives such as the “Naval de Cartagena”, Salamanca and Madrid.
The first 400 editions of the book are already available in bookshops in Calasparra.
