The Spanish Government has secured an agreement with the European Commission to exclude obligatory tariffs on Spanish motorways from the beginning of 2024.
The agreement forms part of the programme of Sustainable Mobility and includes an extensive programme of development and modernization of the railway system to facilitate the transfer of goods cargos from the road network to rail.
Spain can expect to receive 8,000 million euros from the EU Recuperation Fund for the project.
