Temperatures in Calasparra over the past few days have failed to drop below 30C during the night and the hot winds have turned many homes into an oven.
According to the Met Office today, Wednesday, temperatures in north Spain will drop by up to 10 degrees and there will be strong winds. The bad news for us is that these same winds will blow burning hot here in the region and temperatures could hit the 40´s in Calasparra from 2pm and lasting well into the night.
Closing windows and blinds has little effect on the temperature inside dwellings which do not have air conditioning and fans have little effect.
We are in for another stifling night tonight but it could be the last for a while as predictions are that temperatures will fall to the mid 30´s over the next few days.
