There will be two major additions to the ITV Test from May which will affect owners of vehicles with an Electronic Central Unit, basically a small computer.
The ITV Test from May will include a test to ensure that the «e-call SOS button», obligatory in new cars from March 31,2018, works correctly.
The other change involves the Electronic Central Unit itself. This unit stores information on breakdowns, fuel consumption and emissions. Workers at the ITV Cnentre will connect the unit in your car to a computer and will be able to see the information stored,. They will also be able to ensure that the unit if working correctly and whether is has been adjusted or tampered with.
