FROM OUR VEGETABLE GARDEN TO YOUR TABLE

This month we have been busy picking stinging nettles to make our own natural fertilizer for all the new seedlings and seeds we have planted inside our new greenhouse and out in the fields. It’s a very smelling exercise as the “brew” smells foul, however, the results make our efforts well worthwhile.
The potatoes are finally in, the purple sprouting and Savoy cabbages are looking perky and the broccoli has a mound of small purple heads. We have rows of small succulent lettuces ready to pick and the leeks are fattening up nicely. In the greenhouse the cucumbers have already sprouted and the tomato plants are in flower.

Our stall on Friday´s market will be able to offer lettuces, leeks, spring garlic, Swiss Chard, broccoli, sprouts and Swedes.
We pick our vegetables on the morning of the market to ensure our customers buy the freshest produce on the market and we use exclusively natural fertilizers and pest control to ensure they are the tastiest and, of course, in order to preserve our ecological certification.
We have regular inspections from the Ecological Agricultural Department in Murcia and we are still only the retail outlet in Calasparra to offer certified ecological produce.
We still have a few bottles of our own ecological olive oil, unfiltered and cold pressed by a small family olive press in Blanca, at 10€ for two litres.
