VISIT THE BRONZE AGE CAVE DRAWINGS OF CALASPARRA

A guided visit to the Abrigos del Pozo and the  Almadenes Canyon has been organised for Saturday October 8 with access for anyone with mobility problems.
The cave drawings in the Abrigos de Pozo were declared part of the World Heritage by UNESCO and include outlines of figures such as men with axes, their pets and many more, which testify to the existence of human life in the caves during at least 10,000 years and date back to the Bronze Age.
The two «abrigos» (shallow caves/shelters) are on the north west side of the Sierra del Molino on the bank of the Segur River where it forms part of the Almadenes Canyon.
The dark red cave drawings, preserved in different panels, are one of the most historically relevant in the Murcia region, not only because they are numerous but also for their variety.
There are only 30 spaces for the visit so reservations are required at 968 74 53 25 or at museodelavilla@calasparra.org
