The 2,617,294 euros renovation project at Caravaca Hospital will include an Intensive Care Unit, the regional authorities have decided, and it should be operational within a few months.
Improvements to the Emergency Department and consultation rooms have already been completed and include a new Preventative Medicine Unit, essential for vaccinating vulnerable groups against Covid.
Plans also include 200 new staff for the hospital including 53 extra nursing staff and other frontline workers.
