All the traditional activities and events to mark the Commemoration of the Donation of Calasparra to St Juan of Jerusalem will return to the cultural agenda this year.
The Medieval Market “La Encomienda,” from June 9, in central town, will include demonstrations of traditional crafts, live music, jugglers, clowns, a military camp with soldiers, a children´s corner with puppet theatres, stilt walkers and games, ecological stalls and more than 40 shows and attractions.
Also on June 9 the Day of the Region of Murcia will also be celebrated in the Plaza de la Corredera at 8.30pm.
The gift of “Keys of Calasparra”, also on June 9, in the Municipal Auditorium at 9pm, will recognise the fund raising efforts of the local association “Calasparra Se Mueve” which raises funds for cancer research.
This year, after a break due to the Covid epidemic, the Grand Medieval Parade will be held at 8pm on Sunday June 12.
The parade will be from Calle Higinio Garcia to the Arches in the Gran Via.
On June 10 and 11, as part of the «Calasparra Rutas del Arroz», there will be an evening walking route entitled “Route of the Mirrors at Sundown.”
