Two lightning strikes caused fires in two emblematic natural spaces near Calasparra during Monday´s storm.
The first, detected by the Forestry Fire Brigade in Calasparra, fell on the Huertecica footpath, part of the Cañaverosa Natural Park, at 5pm.
The subsequent fire was rapidly extinguished by the Calasparra Forestry Fire Brigade and a Forest Agent.
The second lightning strike fell just a few moments later on the Sierra del Molino, causing a fire, which was extinguished thanks to the rapid intervention of agents from Calasparra.
Some 17.8 litres of rain fell per square metre in the centre of Calasparra during Monday´s storm.
