RELAXATION OF RESTRICTIONS FOR COVID CASES

The fall in cases of Covid-19 after the sixth wave of the virus, which began after Christmas, has led the Health Authorities to relax, from today March 28, the control of cases, isolation and quarantine.
The Ministry of Health and the regional governments are looking to reduce the status of the virus to an illness similar to “flu.”
From today confirmed cases of Covid, which are asymptomatic or mild, will not be required to isolate nor remain in quarantine.
The control and diagnosis of people with symptoms compatible with Covid will also change from today. General testing will no longer be carried out and will be limited to vulnerable groups, people over 60 years, immune depressed, pregnant women and serious cases.
Although quarantine is eliminated, it is recommended that positive cases, mild or asymptomatic, should maintain security measures such as using masks in all ambits and avoiding contact with vulnerable people.
In the Murcia region the incidence per head of population has decreased but the incidence amongst the over 65 years has increased, leading some experts to predict a seventh wave of the virus in the region.
