Calasparrians met in the Plaza de la Corredera last night to show their solidarity with Ukraine which is currently suffering an invasion by Russia.
Demonstrations were held simultaneously in all the municipal areas of Spain.
The Mayoress of Calasparra; Teresa Garcia, read the following Institutional Declaration
«After the military aggression suffered by Ukraine on February 24 by Russia Calasparra Town Hall, together with the Spanish Fesderation of Muniipals and Provinces make the following statement:-
1. We energetically and roundly condemn the attack perpetrated in different Ukrainin cities and the massive deployment of military and arms by Russia and the subsequent consequences. We demand, along with the international community, the immediate end to this aggression and the withdrawal of the Russian military from Ukraine.

2. We firmly support the population of Ukraine and send our solidarity and affection and we also send this support to the more then one hundred thousand Ukranians who live in Spain and who for years have been our neighbours.
3. We unite with all the current initiatives to reinstate international rights which have been unilaterally violated, as well as the defence and reinforcement of the central element of world order agreed by Europe and the rest of the world.
4. We support, without any doubt, whatever action is taken to reestablish peace and democracy and the respect for legality and human rights.
