The statistics from the regional Health Authority for the region show a 35% drop in cases of Covid-19 copared to last Monday.
There were more than 1000 new cases diagnosed in the region over the past 24 hours but the number of hospital admissions and patients in intensive care has dropped.
Sadly, four women and a man, ages 61, 81, 86, 91 and 98 have died of the virus over the past 24 hours.
The statistics for new cases, compared to yesterday, Sunday, may appear high but data collection over the weekend is affected by the lack of testing.
