There are currently 208 total active cases of Covid-19 registered in Calasparra, according to the North West Murcia Health Authority, 56 of which were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
In Caravaca there are 824 active cases with 39 new; in Cehegin 502 with 111 new; and in Moratalla 178 with 28 new.

We have received a query from a reader today asking why «Nexo´s» statistics for Calasparra re always lower than those of Murciasalud.
Firstly, Nexonr does not have statistics on Covid-19 in Calasparra and relies on information from the local health authority, North West Murcia, which issues figures daily for the last 24 hour period. These figures reflect the number of active cases in Calasparra at the moment of publication not the accumulated figures over a seven or 14 day period such as the case with Murciasalud. If readers go to the Murciaslud epidemiolgy report on the website they will find they can click for a «seven day report» or a «14 day report» for a statistics that shows the number of positive cases reported during that period.
Nexonr has chosen not to publish these statistics as they do not reflect the daily situation in Calasparra as the totals given fail to take into account active cases which have come to the end of their quarantine period and therefore are considered negative at that point.
If the Murciasalud statistics have been reproduced as a source of up to date information on the daily number of active cases in Calasparra without explanations of the criteria and counting period on another website we can understand our reader´s confusion. However, unfortunately, the reproduction of information on other websites without adequate explanation is beyond our control.
