INCIDENCE OF COVID IN REGION UP BY 60%

The incidence of Covid-19 (per 100,000 head of population) has increased by 60% over the last week as 11 clusters of the virus were registered in schools.
The rise in cases has been traced to extracurricular school activities and children´s birthday parties.
The incidence of Covid-19 in the region in the last 14 days was 72.5 but this has increased to 44.4% in only seven days.
The regional Health Authority is “worried” by the increase but says no new measures will be introduced at this time. The Authority has appealed for “prudence” and will increase inspections to ensure the current anti Covid measures are being respected.
No deaths from the virus have been recorded over the weekend.
There are currently no cases of the virus registered in Calasparra.
