After marching through the town centre the Rondalla and the visiting folklore group from Murcia filled the Plaza de la Corredera with traditional music and dance.
The VII Folklore Festival was held at Sunday midday and included traditional dance demonstrations by the visitors, La Peña Huertana “El Almirez” Santo Ángel (Murcia) and music from the Asociación Cultural Folclórica Rondalla de Calasparra.
The Queen of the Countryside (Huerta) from Murcia and her “ladies” attended the event.
«We must continue to build our culture and patrimony and not allow it to fossilize,” said Cllr Antonio Merino, “Our patrimony can become an effective strategy for social and territorial development.
