NATIONAL HEATWAVE STARTS TODAY

The heatwave being predicted all week starts today, Thursday, so expect temperatures to reach the 40´s around 4 to 5pm.
It is unlikely to cool down much before the early hours of Friday morning and may still be in the high 30´s at 9pm tonight.
The Met Office also warns of storms and high winds this afternoon.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday may also bring temperatures in and above 40C but on Tuesday expect a welcome 33C.
All over Spain people are being advised to stay indoors with windows and curtains/blinds closed and not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
Many national parks and mountain areas have been closed to reduce the risk of fire.
The regional weather centre advises that Calasparra, as part of North West Murcia, may experience slightly lower temperatures
(around 38C) and that night time temperatures may fall to 22C.
On Friday they predict temperatures of over 40C in nearby Caravaca.
Readers are advised to prepare for the worst and stay inside whenever possible.
Please take all the normal precautions: increase your water intake, eat light meals, avoid alcohol and caffeine and try and stay cool.
