THE BULL RING IS NOT IN RUINS SAYS PART OWNER

There are doubts that the September fiestas in Calasparra will go ahead after the third part owner refused categorically to sell his share to Calasparra Town Hall.
“The bull ring is not in ruins,” he told a Press Conference last night, “tell me what needs repairing and I will carry out the work.
“Neither I or my sister are going to sell,” he added.
The Caballero family bought the bull ring in 1972. When the current owners’ father died the three offspring inherited the property.
As reported in Nexonr yesterday, one of the brothers has agreed to sell his share to Calasparra Town Hall but the other two owners, who are refusing to sell, have the option of buying out his share. Joaquín Caballero, has not confirmed he will take this option and says he doesn´t even know the price set for the third share of the bull ring.
Yesterday the Mayoress, Teresa Garcia, said the 2021 September Fiestas were conditional on all three owners selling their share to Calasparra Town Hall by 2022 and carrying out the minimum amount of work to secure the safety of the fans.
Following the Press Conference by Joaquim Caballero it seems unlikely the former will take place thus increasing uncertainty over this year´s fiestas.
