The Met Office has issued an orange weather warning for torrential rain and storms in the Murcia region, including Calasparra.
According to the warning, torrential rainfall of between 40 to 60 litres per square metre is expected to fall in an hour during stormy weather.
Readers are advised to take the usual precautions;
Clear drains and guttering
Do not park vehicles on slopes or in low lying areas where they may be carried away by running water
Avoid driving if at all possible, especially on minor or country lanes.
