The Regional Health Authority is warning that the increasing rate of contagions of Covid-19 is putting an enormous strain on local medical centres, which are on the brink of collapse.
There are currently 2,700 active cases of the virus in the region, 395 of which were diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
There were 101 clusters of Covid.19 between July 5 and 11, twice as many as the week before.
These outbreaks were mainly related to nightclubs and bars but some were traced back to a wedding celebration.
The majority of those affected are aged between 15 and 40. The 20 to 25 year age band is the most affected.
There were no deaths related to the virus recorded in the last 24 hours.
