There were 488 people diagnosed with Covid-19 in 46 outbreaks of the virus in the Murcia region between June 28 and July 4.
The outbreaks, according to experts, can be traced to social reunions and leisure activities and mainly affect the younger generations.
Six out of 10 cases, diagnosed in the individual outbreaks, affected people below 30 years of age.
Of the 646 cases diagnosed in the last two weeks 62% were in people under the age of 30 years. The most affected age band is 15 – 29 years.
This week has seen an increase of 48% in the number of cases diagnosed in the region.
