NO PRISON FOR KNIFE ATTACK IN CALASPARRA

A Calasparrian who stabbed a young man in order to prevent him from entering a local “peña” (club) last July has escaped a prison sentence after admitting the crime and apologizing to the family of the injured youth.
After Francisco A.M. admitted trying to kill the young man with a knife the Fiscal Ministry agreed to waive his four year prison sentence and ordered him to pay 1,900 euros in damages and 500 euros in compensation.
The incident occurred last July in the Eras de Ursulo area of Calasparra otherwise known as the Recinta Ferial when the victim and his cousin attempted to enter a “peña”. They were attacked as they returned to their car and the victim was stabbed twice in the stomach.
José MF was also condemned for the attack and ordered to pay a fine of four euros daily.
