The budget airline, Ryanair, has announced a 50% reduction in services from Alicante next summer which includes the cancellation of 18 routes and national connections.
The move will result in the loss of six planes based at El Altet, the suspension of 18 routes and 1,500 employees will lose their jobs.
The routes to be cancelled next month include six national destinations: Zaragoza, Valladolid, Madrid, Sevilla, Santander and Palma. The 12 international routes to be cancelled are to Fez, Brno, Bratislava, Marrakech, Pisa, Venice, London Gatwick, Poznan, Magdeburgo, Gdansk, Doncaster and Humberside.
