The model nativity scene or crib, known as the “Belen,” is a traditional theme of Christmas in Calasparra and every year there is an opportunity to visit the magnificent municipal “Belen” in the Cine Rosales and shops and businesses compete to win a local competition.
This year there is an additional opportunity to learn a little more about the art of the “Belenistas” with a special exhibition in the Sala de la Comendador which run until January 21.
The full list of cultural activities available this week, December 12 to 18 is:
Thursday December 15 at 7.30pm: Concert of traditional Christmas Music, “Villancicos,” in the Municipal Auditorium. Entrance free.
Friday December 16 at 8.30pm: Classical music concert with the «Trío Alborada» in the municipal auditorium. Entrance free.
Saturday December 17 at 8.30pm: Song and Dance with «José Antonio Gil y Aliesán» in the municipal auditorium. Entrance free.
Saturday December 17 at 8.00pm: Inauguration of the exhibition “Nativity Scenes” by Joaquín Trujillo Ponce in the Sala del Comendador.
Sunday December 18 at 6.30pm: theatre from the High School theatre group The Altar of Miracles. Entrance free.
