EU COVID CERTIFICATE BEFORE SUMMER SEASON

The European Parliament has taken the first step towards approving an EU Covid-19 certificate and expects to have reached an agreement in time for the summer holiday season.
The EU Covid-19 certificate replaces the original proposal for a Green Digital Certificate and will guarantee the right to freedom to circulate throughout Europe during the pandemic.
The document will be available in digital or paper form and indicates whether a person has been vaccinated against Covid-19, or has had a recent negative test, or has contracted and passed Covid-19. It will be valid for 12 months.
Now the proposal has been approved negotiations begin with a view to approving the final document in time for the summer tourist season.
People with the certificate may not be subject to additional restrictions, such as quarantine, self-isolation or testing, according to the EYU Parliament. The EU deputies have also claimed that, to avoid discrimination against people who have not been vaccinated, the member countries must confirm “the possibility of universal testing, accessible, timely and free of charge.”
