You could be forgiven for expecting last Friday´s market day to be a complete wash out. However, although most of the clothing and shoe stalls packed up and went home before midday as the streets turned into rivers, trade at our ecological vegetable stall was steady and, once again, most of the produce completely sold out.
This Friday, tomorrow, forecasters are predicting wall to wall sunshine and the stall, outside the gates of the Cine Rosales in the Cupula Square, is looking forward to another week of brisk trade.
Fresh, crisp celery is the new star of the stall this week along with cauliflower and broccoli. We still have some salad tomatoes, lettuces, radishes and beetroot as well as carrots, spring garlic and Jerusalem artichokes.
Sun or shine, mud or no mud, we pick our vegetables as soon as the sun rises on Friday mornings to ensure the best quality, the best taste and the freshest produce on the market and, because we have no middle man, at rock bottom prices!!
