Following the wettest night of the year when 32 litres of rainfall was registered in Calasparra the State Weather Centre has issued an Orange Alert for the region of Murcia today, Monday, warning that the probability of 40 millilitres of rain falling per hour is between 40 and 70%.
This morning traffic on the motorway MU-30 and the national road N-301 suffered delays and disruption due to the heavy rainfall particularly in the area of Molina del Segura and near the Universidad of Murcia.
The emergency services in the region responded to 242 calls to the 112 emergency number during the early hours of this morning including 62 reports of flooding, 27 obstacles in the road and services rescued 15 vehicles or people.
