The President of the regional Government of Murcia, Ferrnando López Miras, has announced that as more municipal areas have gone from Red Extreme Alert to Yellow Alert for Covid-19 bar terraces may be allowed to open.
However, he warned that the municipal perimeters will remain closed as the accumulated incidence of the virus per head of population still exceeds 500 for 100,000 inhabitants.
Calasparra´s risk level was reduced from Red to Yellow late last week. and yesterday there were 47 active cases, one of which was diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
He said the situation in the hospitals remains “very difficult” and that the death toll from Covid-10 in the region has tripled during the third wave of the virus compared to the first and second.
Final decisions will be made by the regional Covid-19 Tracing Committee and will be announced later this week.
