NO RELAXATION OF STATE OF ALARM IN CALASPARRA

The regional Government has announced that the curfew, the closure of the regional boundaries and the restrictions limiting residents to their municipal areas has been extended until December 9.
Neither will the bars and restaurants be opening in Calasparra although some municipal areas in the region, with lower incidence of Covid-19, bars will be allowed to open their terraces with numbers limited.
The President of the region. Lopez Miras, says the “de-escalation will be slow and, even though the measures taken are having effect, we need to continue to be prudent.”
He announced different measures for different municipal areas depending on the incidence of the virus in their area.
For example, from Saturday, terraces may open at 100% capacity in Aguilas, Ulea and Ojos and at 75 percent in Cartagena, Molina de Segura, Santomera, Beniel, Lorqui, Abaran and Pliego.
In order to decide which areas may open bar and restaurant terraces the regional government takes the last 14 days with the reference of 500 cases for 100,000. If the number of cases in an area has reached this number (50 based on the population of Calasparra within the 7 day period and 75 in 14 days) the bars and restaurants will remain closed. This is the case of Calasparra where 52 cases were recorded in the last seven days
The Regional Covid-19 Tracking Committee will meet again on Saturday to decide which measures must be implemented in the different municipal areas.
According to the regional President: “It is true that the incidence of contagion has fallen significantly and that the measures we put in place have been effective but there is still pressure on our hospitals and medical staff and admissions to the Intensive Care Units are higher than desirable.”
All the restrictions, including those on public gatherings and meetings, weddings and other ceremonies, the limitation on street markets and the rules for the number of people travelling in private vehicles remain in place until December 9 unless otherwise decreed by the regional government.
Residents are restricted to remain within the limits of their municipal area unless they have a “justifiable cause” such as work, study or medical appointments. The regional perimeter remains closed.
