Visiting the Almadenes Canyon on foot or by car will be strictly limited to protect nesting eagles and otters.
The new regulation prohibits visitors on foot or in any type of vehicle in the area near the nesting platforms between January 1 and July 15, 2020.
The Almadenes Canyon is a protected nature reserve regulated by the Department of Water, Agriculture, Stockbreeding, Fish and the Environment.
A spokesperson says: “The norm is to avoid disturbing the reproduction of species such as the Bonelli´s Eagle and the otter, both of which are in danger of extinction and so their protection is especially important.”
