Pepe Velez, former mayor, attended a special ceremony near the site of the Abrigos del Pozo last week to mark the international promotion of local prehistoric cave drawings.
The ceremony was organised by the regional Rock Art Association and the local Town Hall.
The Abrigos del Pozo has been incororporated in the European Rock Art Cultural Walks Network and has been signposted with cultural information.
Also attending the ceermony were the Mayors of Jumilla, Cieza, Mula and Moratalla and local councilors from Calasparra.
