Three residents had to be evacuated as fire raged through a property in Calle Lavador in central Calasparra last night.
The fire service was called at 10pm last night and five fireman fought the blaze. However, in the end the property was completely destroyed.
The owner of the house left the premises of his own volition but three women, who lived in the property, aged 43, 84 and 89 had to be evacuated by emergency services.
Calle Lavador was closed to traffic at 10pm and our information is that the road remains closed to traffic.
The intense smell of burning rapidly extended for central Calasparra alerting the residents of the fire.
Firemen were at the scene this morning damping down the remains of the property.
The cause of the fire remains unknown and is being investigated by the local police.
